Donna Humphries Wellmon, 64, passed away peacefully at her home in Shelby, North Carolina, on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Born on July 21, 1961, in Cleveland County, Donna was the beloved daughter of Mary Lou Anthony Humphries and the late Donald Robert Humphries. She was also preceded in death by her cherished grandparents, Sol and Molly Guffy Anthony, and Tom and Essie Humphries.

A 1979 graduate of Shelby High School, Donna will be remembered for her gentle spirit and the simple joys that brought her happiness, especially the special companionship of her beloved kitty, Little Bit, who held a treasured place in her heart.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother; her aunt and uncle, Pat and Jerry Fish of Maiden, NC; Faye and Don Cooke of Shelby, NC; her niece, Michelle Green and husband Brad of Raleigh, NC, along with their daughter, Alina; and her cousin, Mitchell Guffy and family of Boiling Springs, NC. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever hold her in their hearts.

A visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
