Donna Kay Self Reynolds, 82, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. Born in Cleveland County on September 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Coleman Franklin Self and Laura Mae Borders Self. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Self.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, and "Nannie" who treasured her family above all else. She was a wonderful cook, a talented seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting items to share with foster homes and hospitals. An avid reader, she found pleasure in the simple things in life, especially spending time with her family. Donna was a lifelong member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

She worked as a paralegal for many years before retiring from Gardner-Webb University, where she worked in Human Resources.

Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Reynolds; her daughter, Tracy Reynolds Montgomery (Andy); her grandson, Reynolds Montgomery; her brother-in-law, Glenn Reynolds (Denise); and her nephews, Barry Self (Heather), Ron Self, Josh Reynolds (Sarah), and David Reynolds (Katie).

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2026, at Elizabeth Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Rit Varriale officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
