Mr. Donnell Murray departed this life on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Hospice of Shelby, NC.

He was born on August 22, 1967, in Washington, DC to Ms. Gail Denise Wilson and the late Rashid "Burdock" Rahman Bey.
Donnell graduated from Burns High School in 1985 and attended college. Donnell was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He was employed at ABM Industries since 2019.
He spent countless hours cheering on the Washington Redskins and North Carolina Tar Heels in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Donnell was a source of strength, wisdom, and joy to all who knew him. His love and commitment to his family was unmatched, and he left a mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. Donnell was a man of little words and found comfort in the quiet moments of life. Above all, he was a father who cherished his children, always offering guidance, support, and a sense of unconditional love, whether through his words or actions. To know him was to love him.
In addition to his father, Donnell was preceded in death by two sons, Tyrell Murray and Donnell Edwin Murray Jr., one sister, Chappal Ball, and grandparents, Bradley Murray and Maggie Murray, who reared him in their home.
Donnell leaves cherished memories with the love of his life for over three decades, Sonya Evet Russell; children, Ikeem Murray, Montrell Murray, Que'vasis Murray (Amy), Zaria Murray, Keiara Russell (Chantel); grandchildren DeVaun Murray, Miliani Murray, Dominican Murray, Ma'Kenzie Murray, Keri Murray, Ka'Myriah Murray, Brookyln Harris, Brice Harris; great grandchild Jaziyla Murray; sisters Letha Murray, Khalilah Ingram, Portlan Mauney, and Kristina Cheek; brother, Kareen Roseboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services was held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
