Dora Julie Issie Anne McClain Clark

Dora Julie Issie Anne McClain Clark, lovingly known as "Doe-Doe," was born on June 5, 1934, to the late Allie and Maggie McClain. On November 13, 2025, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Dora was united in marriage to the late Cal Clark, Sr., and from this union came three beloved children: Gail Brown of Concord, Betty Clark of Shelby, and Calvin (Kathi) Clark of Rutherfordton.

In her younger years, Dora served as the nanny to Robert (Wendy) and Helen "Nuccia" Shampain. Through

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, J.R., Ensloe, Winsloe, and Allie J.R. McClain; and four sisters, Louise Holland, Helen Gordon, Elizabeth "Libby" Jamerson, and Ruth Thurman.

She was the proud grandmother of Connie Brooks, Rebecca Brooks, James Brooks, Nakima "Nikki" Bell (Jovan), Calvin "Jr Jr" Clark, Noah and Emma Shampain, Brittanie McCall, Jonathon Skelton, James Kilgellon, Alexandra Skelton, Jennifer Sumlar, Kimberly Gonzalez, Stephanie Failauga, and Christina McGinnis. Her legacy continues through thirty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Dora also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who adored her deeply.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Shelby, NC.
