Mrs. Doris Marie Stroupe Murphy, 79 of 260 Shady Grove Rd., Lawndale, NC passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010. Services were held at Charity Baptist Church, Shelby. Burial followed in the church cemetery. 

Mrs. Murphy served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Murphy; and her parents, Soloman Stroupe and Estelle Lockridge Stroupe.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Kathy Head of Lawndale, NC; 1 sister, Gertrude Alexander of Belmont, NC; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
