Dorothy Mae Ledford, 76, of 872 Cedarline Drive, Shelby, died Thursday, May
5, 2011 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born June 18, 1934 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late,
Cletus Julius Self and Omar Mae Condrey Self.  She was retired as a
laminated operator for PPG and Azdel.  Mrs. Ledford was of the Southern
Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William
Newell Ledford; and a brother.

Survivors: two sons, William N. Ledford, Jr. and wife, Carolyn of Shelby and
Gregory E. Ledford of Shelby; five daughters, Wanda Toney and husband,
Michael of Sunshine, Judy B. Mellon and husband, Donald of Shelby, Trudy
Brackett and husband, George Steve of Casar, Cindy Ledford and husband,
Roger of Shelby and Tammy Carico and husband, Dwayne of Polkville; two
brothers, Bill Self and wife, Ann and Frank Self all of Sunshine; sister,
Betty Biggerstaff and husband, Tim of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren,
Lissa Queen, Angie Smith, Amy Smith, Misty Whitaker, Brian Blanton, Miranda
Kilby, Deborah Brackett, Brandy Cooper and Brittany Carico; and twenty
great-grandchildren.

Fallston.
