Earnest Eugene "Gene" Bledsoe, 63, of Grover, NC, passed away on April 12, 2026 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born June 3, 1962 in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Abe and Louise Collins Bledsoe and was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Bledsoe. Gene worked in construction during his early years until changing careers to the mining industry. He worked for many years as a lead man at Imerys Mining. He was a longtime faithful member at Midview Baptist Church where he was affectionately known by the children of the church as "Mr. Bus Man". Gene loved children and was a dedicated van driver. One of his passions was to make sure children had the opportunity to come to church to learn about our Savior. Gene was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his family just days before he went home to meet the Lord. He loved being outdoors, spending time with those he loved. He was a talented marksman and cherished time spent shooting with friends and family. Above all, Gene loved the Lord. He shared the gospel with all those he could, even participating in a missions trip to the Philippines. Gene was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved him.
