Mr. Eddie Gene Gentry passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his residence. He was born October 18, 1951, in Cleveland County, NC, to the late G.H. and Bulah Mae Gentry.

Eddie graduated from Shelby High School in 1969. He was a member of
New Creation Christian Center in Shelby, NC. Eddie was employed with Rico Scola Landscaping and Lawn Care Service of Shelby, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Donnel Edwin Murray, Jr. and Tyrell Murray.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two children, a daughter,
Laverne Denise Hopper and a son, Eddie Dean McShaw, both of Shelby, NC; grandchild, Montrell Murray; great grandchildren, Kamyriah Murray and Makeriah Murray; two sisters, Mae Lois Hoskins of Shelby, Loretta Gentry Milburn (William) of Mitchellville, MD; three brothers, Alvin Gentry of Sacramento, CA, Ricky Gentry (Charmaine) of Forest City, NC, and Steve Gentry (Rhonda) of Forest City, NC; a special friend Loraine Foster of Shelby, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. A reception of friends will be held from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM on Friday. Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the services.
