Emilia Melendez - Ortiz, 100 , of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, February 28,
2017 at her residence.

Born June 9, 1916 in Orcocovis, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the
late Jesus Melendez and Providencia Ortiz. She worked at La - Rosa pasta
factory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings.

She is survived by a son, Jose Gilberto Rodriguez of Puerto Rico; a
daughter, Minerva Lewis of Shelby; two siblings, five grandchildren;
numerous great grandchildren.

A grave side service will be Friday at 3:00 PM at Rose Hill memorial Park
with Rev. Neil Brower officiating.
