Eretta Rogers Weathers, age 88, of Cherryville, NC passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.

Eretta was born Saturday, July 15, 1933 in Lugoff, SC to the late Lewis and Essie Bowen. She worked in textiles for many years, having worked for Rex Mill in Lowell and J.P. Stevens Mill in Stanley. Eretta had a heart of compassion and generosity. She was a wonderful example of a Pastor's wife having served with her two late husbands in the ministry. Eretta was a caretaker for many and provided home health care and childcare for those in dire need. She was also a quilter and an avid gardener. She was the epitome of a "Proverbs 31" lady. Eretta was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Dallas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Reverend Thomas Rogers and Reverend Bobby Weathers; three daughters, Bobbie Smith, Wanda Rogers and an infant, Fletta Mae Rogers; a grandson, Thomas Christopher Rogers; four brothers and four sisters.

Left to cherish fond memories are her son, Douglas Rogers (Carol) of Cherryville; brother, Jack Bowen (Mary) of Dallas, NC; three grandchildren, Shelby Millwood (Greg) of Mooresboro, Emily Baynard (Brian) of Forest City and Paul Rogers (Brittney) of Georgia; ten great-grandchildren, Meredith Parker (Alex), Hannah Buitron (Caleb), Jonah Millwood (Anna), Katelyn Baynard, Maggie Baynard, Corbin Baynard, Alexis Vinson (Triston), Averery Baynard, Natalia Rogers and Wesley Rogers; five great-great grandchildren, Zoey Parker, Everlee Parker, Tobias Parker, Hadassah Buitron and Sophia Vinson.

No formal services are planned at this time.
