Esther Victoris Cogswell Angel, 79, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Rutherford County, NC.

Born in Wayne, Michigan, on July 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Cogswell and Clara Victoria Dufour Cogswell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Angel; two sons, Robert Angel and Benjamin Franks; and her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Norman Charboneau.

Esther loved being a nurse and was very good at caring for others. Her faith in Jesus was an important part of her life, and she dearly loved her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Leighia Angel Jones (Rob); grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Molly Jones, and Kayti Brooks (Phillip); and daughter-in-law, Wendy Franks. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, including Audrey Fisher, Susan Holland, Guy Charboneau, Norma Wagaman, and Roy Charboneau; and cousins Kathy Smith, James Dodd, and Ricky Dodd.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Hinton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
