Eunice White Poston, 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Shelby Manor. Born in Shelby on October 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Dock Amos White and Steny Spake White.

She was a loving wife, mother, MiMi, and friend. She was a lifelong member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Dan Poston; her sister, Hazel Dear (Murry); and her brothers, Winfred, Carl, and Dan (Margaret).

MiMi and Dan enjoyed life. They traveled to all 50 states and many countries. They loved attending their grandchildren's ball games and activities, always cheering them on.

She is survived by her three children, Beth Cameron (Bill), Phil Poston (Donna), and Julie Smith; as well as her grandchildren, Chris Cameron (Grace) of Blythewood, SC; Jenny Pierce (Christopher) of Greer, SC; Alex Smith and Sam Smith, both of Matthews, NC; and Katie McElreath (Evan) of Shelby.

Also left to cherish her memory are her great-grandchildren, Bella and Emma Cameron, Holden Pierce, Cameron Pierce, Blair Pierce, and Rosie McElreath.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31 2026, in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff of VIA Health Partners and Shelby Manor for their love and excellent care of our mother. She was in good hands.
