Blacksburg - Evelyn Whitt "Granny" Reynolds, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of George Columbus "Papa" Reynolds and the daughter of Fate and Ella Willis Whitt. She was a member of Mount Paran Baptist Church.

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her children, Lisa Peterson, Linda Covan, and Larry Dornberg, and a "barnful" of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louie Defoye Whitt Sr., her sons, Dennis Robinson and James "Jimmy" Dornberg, her daughter, Vickie Dornberg, her daughter-in-law, Mary Dornberg, her son-in-law, Donnie Covan, and her grandsons, Christopher "Chris" Dornberg and Brian Scruggs.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney, 211 East Frederick Street, Gaffney, SC. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney Chapel with Chaplain Bruce Dayton officiating. Interment will be in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. Todd Smith, Gabe Robinson, David Allen McWhirter, Gregory Clayton Whitt, Benjamin Alexander Whitt, and Nathan Ray Mauk will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Josiah Wilkins and Lucas Peterson.
