Florence Moore Humphries, 84, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

A native of Cherokee County, she was born December 3, 1941 to the late E.D. and Rosella Moore.

Florence was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She worked for many years in various roles at the family service station and devoted her life to caring for others in need. Above all, Florence cherished her family. She found great joy in hosting gatherings at her home, including family reunions, holiday celebrations, and any occasion that brought loved ones together. The time she spent with her family created treasured memories that will be remembered for generations.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bud" Humphries; her son, Frankie Humphries; her daughter, Angela Humphries; and her siblings, Tince Moore (Dot), James Moore, Tommy Moore, Sis Cash (Buster), Shirley Henderson (Johnny), Helen Strange (Billy) and brother-in-law Grady Whitener, Sister-in-law Charlene Moore

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Humphries; siblings, Brenda Jones (Ray), Judy Emory (Ronnie), Kathy Whitener, and Mickey Moore; special niece and nephew, JoAnn Lawson and Dylan Witherspoon; special sisters-in-law, Revonda Humphries, Vonda Humphries, Sylvia Humphries, Sybil Sarratt and Brenda Humphries.

The funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverend Derek Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
