Forrest Edwin Wallace

Forrest Edwin Wallace, age 81, of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born April 3, 1945, in Lincoln County to the late Charles Lee Wallace, Jr. and Rena Mae Sellers Wallace. A native of Gaston County, he graduated from Tryon High School, class of 1963. Forrest served in the United Stated Army during the Vietnam War where he received the bronze star. He retired from SC Lovelace and Sons. Forrest was a farmer at heart. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed sharing the produce he grew with friends, family, and his local community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Guy Wallace. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Sandra Farnsworth Wallace; daughter and son-in-law, Jeleta and Mike Auten; grandchildren, McKenzie Nicholson and husband, Devin, and Colby Auten; great grandson on the way, David Ray Nicholson; sister, Patricia Wofford and husband, Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Paula Wallace, Sue Carpenter and husband, Robert, Sheila Hester and husband, Danny; and brothers-in-law, Randy Farnsworth and wife, Pam and Roy Farnsworth and wife, Myra; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hollar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home.
