Frances Chapman Mauney passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Testa
Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, she
was born in Casar to Delia Fae and Delbert "Buck" Chapman on October 4,
1935. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James "Jim"
Mauney; her sister, Stella Chapman and her brother, Sherrill Chapman.

Frances was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt,
sister-in-law and friend to many - and she gave special care and love to her
dog CoCo. After graduating from Casar High School, she worked at Hudson
Hosiery, at Bell South in Charlotte and for the Director of Nursing at
Shelby Hospital, ending her work career in Personnel at Fasco Control
Products. In retirement, she continued to sell Mary Kay cosmetics.

Frances and Jim enjoyed many years of square dancing with the Wagon Wheelers
Club. From 1959 to 2005, they also enjoyed their place at Lake James. They
were active members of Zoar Baptist Church in Casar. With her church
friends, Frances often visited shut-ins. She also enjoyed travel as well as
just being home with her husband, family and friends. For most of her life,
she was an avid reader.

She is survived by her son, Michael Mauney and his wife, Brenda of Casar;
nephews, Mark Chapman (Tabitha) and Benjamin Chapman (Kim); niece, Sharon
Brackett (Harrill); six great-nieces; two great-nephews; three great-great
nieces; two great-great nephews and sisters-in-law, Margaret Chapman of
Casar and Louise Campbell, Ann Williams and Sue Mauney all of Shelby.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday February
27, 2018 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Zoar Baptist
Church in Casar with the Revs. Chris Patterson and Chris Sanford
officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
