Frances Irene Walker Ross
Frances Irene Walker Ross, 94, of Lawndale, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain.
Born in Cleveland County on November 14, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Johnathan Mitchell Walker and Eliza "Lizzie" Brackett Walker. She was retired from Cleveland County School System after having served in the lunch room at Fallston Elementary School, Burns High School, and Shelby Junior High School. She was a lifetime member of Buffalo Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband L.J. Ross; son-in-law, Dan Horldt; three brothers, J.C. Walker, Roy Walker, and Flay Walker; four sisters, Gracie Williams, Geneva Walker, Bertha Spake, and Macie Williams.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Annette Ross of Lawndale; daughter, Evelyn Horldt of Lawndale; sister, Ellerea Bolin of Shelby; seven grandchildren and spouses, Angie Borders of Lawndale, David & Kimberly Borders of Charlotte, Diane and David Verbos of Lawndale, James and Alecia Ross of Lawndale, and Wayne and Jerri Ross of Lawndale, Alan and Dori Horldt of Shelby, Bruce and Lisa Horldt of Charlotte, thirteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.
The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 AM at Buffalo Baptist Church with the Rev. Max Turner officiating.
The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
