Mr. Frank Young Putnam, 80, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011. A private service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Putnam served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by  his parents, Clyde George Putnam and Elizabeth Cantrell Putnam; 2 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred “Winky” Abernathy  Putnam of  Shelby; Sons: David Putnam and wife Debra of Simpsonville, SC; Stephen Putnam and wife Pat of Charleston, SC; Sisters: Betty Jo Carpenter of Forest City; Suzanne Kiser and husband Melvin of Bessemer City; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
