Cherryville - Mrs. Gail Lackey Kiser, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at her home.

Gail was born on November 26, 1946 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of the late Inez Deaton Lackey. She retired as a sales clerk from Belk. Gail was a member of Second Baptist Church in Cherryville and served on the bereavement committee. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Canasta, and also had a love for all animals.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Lackey and wife Sally; Carroll Lackey and wife Margie; Jerry Lackey and a brother-in-law Fred McCall.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Lewis Kiser of the home; her son, Chris Kiser and wife Tammy of Cherryville; a sister, Linda McCall of Charlotte; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Tilley Jo.

The family will receive friends from 4:30PM to 5:45PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville and at other times the family will be at the home of Tammy and Chris Kiser, 811 Sellerstown Road, Cherryville, NC 28021.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville with Pastor Matt Thomas and Bishop John Jones.

Burial will be private.
