Gary Alan Nickerson
Gary Alan Nickerson, a beacon of faith and love, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at Carolina Medical Center Main, Charlotte at the age of 71. Born on February 6, 1954, in Saratoga Springs, New York, and raised in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Gary's life was a testament to service, both to his country and community. Gary was a retired Psychiatric Nurse, a profession through which he touched many lives with his compassion and understanding. His dedication to helping others was evident in every aspect of his life. A veteran of the US Army, Gary served his nation with honor during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany.
A man with a passion for his farming, He spent countless hours working with his goats.
A man of deep faith, Gary was a faithful member of Plainsview Baptist Church. His musical talent and passion for worship were evident as he played the drums, bringing joy and rhythm to every service. His commitment to his faith extended beyond the church walls; he was known for his outreach in the community, sharing his faith with a loving and open heart.
Gary's love for his wife was unparalleled. He is survived by his devoted wife, Roberta "Bobbi" Anne Nickerson, his brother Dana Nickerson, his church family, and a host of loving friends who will miss him dearly.
Gary's life was a melody of loving service and faith-filled devotion. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 14, 2025 from 12:45 to 1:45 PM at Plainsview Baptist Church, Lawndale.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Plainsview Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Key.
