Blacksburg - Gary Richards, 76, of 202 Charleston Street, passed away Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Carl and Callie Molly Scates Richards. He worked as a machinist and was employed at Eaton Corp for 27 years. He was also a veteran of the US Army.

Surviving Mr. Richards is his daughter, Marty Ramsey (Billy); his sisters, Sandra Owens and Florence Hodge; his grandchildren, Courtney Stevens (Thomas), Shelbie Sellars (Malik Shifty), Phillip McSwain (Alicia), Bryson Sellars, and Karmen McSwain; his great-grandchildren, Ty'lan Stevens, Stormie Shifty, Brayden Shifty, Paisley Sellars, Luka Sellars, and Koraline Smith; and his four-legged child, Baby Girl.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Richards, Ola Pelzer, Louise Dover, Bobbie Tessener, Howard Richards, and Brenda Smith.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 14th, 2026 from 7:00-8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Phillip Martin officiating.

The family will be at the residence.
