George L "G.L." Stringfellow, 86, of Fallston Road, Shelby, passed away
Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System - Cleveland in
Shelby.

He was born in Cleveland County on March 9, 1930, to the late George Landrum
Stringfellow and Rebecca Rose Causby Stringfellow. He was retired from
Martin Motor Lines of Shelby as the terminal manager and was also a member
of Wallace Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Larry
Stringfellow, two brothers, Grady and Pink Stringfellow and sister, Elsie
Louise Carter.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorene Meade Stringfellow; son, Jack
Stringfellow of Shelby; two daughters, Judy McCoy and husband, Jack and
Wanda McCoy and husband, James both of Shelby; two grandchildren, Mitchell
McCoy and wife, Doneita, and Tracy Gales and husband, Tommy; five great
grandchildren, Chloe and Zoe McCoy, and Cameron, Brooklyn and Adyson Gales.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston. At othertimes the family will be at
the home of Judy and Jack McCoy, 104 Wyndham Cove, Cherryville, NC.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mack Hyder officiating.
