Gerald David Shoup, 74, of Lawndale, passed away on September 14, 2026 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

Gerald was born on March 16, 1952 in Cleveland County, to the late Coy Dwight Shoup and Edna Mae Buff Shoup. He was retired from PPG Industries and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time in his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandi Shoup and two brothers, Faye Shoup and Dean Shoup.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jackie Duckworth Shoup; daughter, Halley Herman of Lawndale; brother, Robert Shoup of Lawndale and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Zion Hill Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 2:00pm at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Homer Tesseneer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
