Mrs. Gladys Humphries, 85, of Shelby, passed away at her home on July 14, 2012.  A native of Cleveland

County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Dawson Todd and Ethel Scruggs Todd and was also preceded

in death by her husband, Clyde Humphries.

She was a retired weaver in textiles and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  She loved word

search, gardening and her family.

Mrs. Humphries is survived by a daughter, Donna Cain of Shelby, a son, Gary Humphries of Shelby and

A daughter, Judy Bailey of Greensboro; a sister, Doris Drake of Greensboro; five granddaughters and

six great grandchildren.

Graveside Service: A graveside service will be held in the  Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, Tuesday,

at 11:00 a.m.  Dr. Paul Sorrells will officiate.
