Mr. Glenn A. G.A. Poston, 72, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Crawley Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church,  an active member and member of the Board of Directors of Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, member of Cleveland County Firefighters Assoc., N. C. Law Enforcement  Officers Assoc., Cleveland County Law Enforcement  Officers Assoc., Mason and member of Cleveland Lodge 202.

Mr. Poston started his career as a jailer with the Cleveland County Sherriff Dept.  He then served as a police officer with Shelby Police, and then went back to the Sheriff’s Dept as a Deputy Sheriff until retirement.  After his retirement as a deputy he worked for a member of years with Security at Cleveland Community College.  Mr. Poston was also a familiar face for many many years at the Cleveland County Fair as he carried out his duties there.

SURVIVED BY: Brother: Ronald Poston  of Shelby; Brother & sist.-in-law: Dan C. Poston & Norma of Shelby; Sister: Barbara Kay Poston Grayson of Shelby; Sister-in-law: Cathy Poston of Shelby; Sister-in-law: Barbara W. Poston of Miami, Fla. and Also by a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Cleveland Funeral Services, Saturday, August 31, 2013   4:00 – 6:00 P.M. and at other times at the home of Dan & Norma Poston, 2015 Biggers Lake Rd., Shelby, NC.

Funeral Services:  Sunday, September 1, 2013, Elizabeth Baptist Church  2:00 P.M.

Body in State at Church:   1:30 – 2:00 Sunday
