Ms. Gwendolyn Denise Cherry, 52, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on June 28, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, on November 8, 1972. She was the daughter of Shirley Cherry and the late Grady Cherry.

Gwendolyn attended Shelby High School and was formerly employed by Cleveland. She lived her life with kindness and warmth. Her greatest joys were found in the kitchen, where she shared her love through cooking, and in the company of family and friends. She especially cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones --- always putting family first and creating lasting memories through her care and presence.

She is preceded in death by her father, Grady Cherry, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her mother, Shirley Cherry; children, Dammon Cherry, Latrice Cherry, Tyquese Hopper, and Ashley Cherry; nine grandchildren; great grandchild, Londyn Downs; siblings, Tabitha Cherry, Latasha Cherry, and Grady Cherry, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Chasity Cherry, Robert Sutton Jr., and Marquise Cherry; special sister friend, Netta Mungen; and a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Palmer Grover Baptist Church in Kingstown, NC. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
