GWU Is Offering Free Income Tax Preparation
The Godbold School of Business's, Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) ENACTUS team have completed Internal Revenue Service training and will offer their services to families and individuals who earn less than $52,000 a year. Before coming to the Boiling Springs VITA program at Hamrick Hall, all potential participants can prepare for their visit by bringing the following: 1) social security cards for everyone listed on the tax return including children 2) photo I.D. of taxpayer and spouse 3) all income information including W-2's, 1099s, and any other source of income 4) information on deductions for donations 5) all medical expenses 6) property tax information. Dr. Denise Smith, a certified public accountant and assistant professor of business administration and healthcare management at Gardner- Webb believes citizens will benefit from completing their taxes as soon as possible.
