Harold Dean Terry, Sr., 73, of Shelby, passed away on September 3, 2026 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

Harold was born on June 30, 1953 in Cleveland County, to the late Howard Arnell Terry and Nina Kathleen Bumgardner Hipps. He was a self-employed small engine mechanic and was a member of Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Beaver.

Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phoebe Ledford Terry; daughter, Stacey Terry Martin and husband, Billy of Shelby; two sons, Scottie Terry and wife, Christy of Vale and Harold Terry, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Albermarle; two brothers, Billy Terry of Ellenboro and Larry Terry and wife, Darlene of Ellenboro; sister, Suzie Shytle of Lawndale; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 6, 2026 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at the Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Allen officiating.

Burial will be private.
