Mr. Hiram Edward “Ed” Young, 92, of Summit Place, Kings Mountain, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. A Memorial Service was held in Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. A Private Burial followed. 

Mr. Young served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Kate H. Young; and his parents, Thomas Franklin “T.F.” Young and Minnie Lee Sandefur Young.

He is survived by 2 sons, Thomas E. Young and wife Dorothy of Shelby, and James L. Young and wife Ann of Charlotte, NC; 1 daughter, Marsha Y. Brown and husband Rodney of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28150; or to: Cleveland Memorial Library, 104 Howie Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
