Hospice Staff Achieve Certifications
Rachel Hill and Kathryn Spangler have achieved board certification by the National Association of Professional Chaplains. A Board Certified Chaplain must have a Masters of Divinity from an accredited school, must have at least four units of Clinical Pastoral Education, must be endorsed and ordained as a minister in their denomination. They must have at least 2000 hours of clinical chaplaincy in a professional setting and pass written and oral competencies. In June, Rachel and Kathryn will travel to Orlando, Florida to receive their certificates at the National Conference for the Association of Professional Chaplains. “Hospice Cleveland County takes pride in the fact that over 50% of our eligible registered nurses are certified in hospice and palliative care and many others are currently working towards certification”, said Patti Ellis McMurry, Vice President of Access. “We want our hospice to be the gold standard in providing excellent care. Certification is an indication that our staff members are willing to go the extra mile to be the very best they can be!” For more information about Hospice Cleveland County, please call 704-487-4677 or visit our website at www.hospicecares.cc. – Photo Provided by: Pam Isaacs
