Howard Peeler
Mr. Howard Peeler, 87, of Peak Resources in Shelby passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.
Born in Cleveland County on April 19, 1927, he was a son of the late Jesse Colen Peeler and Lily Mae Johnson Peeler. Howard was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church and the Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater. After thirty years of service, Howard retired from Broughton Hospital as a health care technician.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by brothers, Colen, Clayton and Alvin Peeler and two infant brothers and sisters, Mattie Wright, Betty Bell Bumgardner and Lois Williams.
He is survived by second wife, Frances Annette Simpson Peeler; sons and daughters-in-law, Tracy and Shelia Peeler of Morganton, Terry Peeler of Charlotte, and Tim and Kay Peeler of Casar; granddaughter, Jessica Peeler Lanning and husband Scott of Morganton; grandson, Jesse Peeler of Morganton; great grandchildren, Emma Lanning and Kaydee Lanning; and beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston. A guest register is available at www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com.
Funeral: The funeral will be at 3 pm Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial: St. Peter's United Methodist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites
