Hubert Clinton Mitchem, age 93 of West Hwy 27 passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Brian Center of Lincolnton. He was born July 3, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Kirby Sherman and Hattie Davis Mitchem. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and retired from Impact Furniture. Hubert enjoyed farming and going to tractor pulls, where he earned many 1st place trophies. He was also skilled in making molasses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lathue Mitchem, Hazeline Cable, and Ruby Mitchem.
Survivors include his wife, Georgeanne Mitchem; sons, Rick Mitchem and Brad Mitchem, both of Vale; and grandsons, Braxton and Brock Mitchem.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Hebron United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathy Turman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
