Hugh Edward Bell "Hughie," age 60, was born December 4, 1961, in Kings Mountain to the late Mary Williams Bell and Robert L. Bell.

He departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Robin Johnson House.

In addition to his parents, Hughie was preceded in death by his brother, Vardren Bell; and sister, Ernestine Bell.

He is survived by his sisters, Bartenis Moore-Davis (Phillip) of Gastonia, Betty Garvin of Bessemer City, and Gail Bell of Orlando, FL; brothers, Vearnus Bell of Charlotte, and Calvin Bell of Gastonia; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Armstrong Cemetery in Gastonia with Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Hughie's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Gaston Residential Services for their kindness and care given to Hugh for many years, to the staff of Robin Johnson House for their expert care and compassion, as well as the staff of Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services for assisting Gaston Residential Services with the pre-arrangement of Hughie's burial services.
