Hugh Harold Moore 71, of 727 Ed Hamrick Road Shelby, passed away Thursday
January 11, 2018.

Though born in Union Co. NC, he eventually settled in Shelby with his loving
wife, Iva Moore. Born July 13, 1946, he was the son of late Olin Moore and
Elizabeth Moore.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Iva Mae
Mellon Moore, and sister Francis Winchester.

Mr. Moore is survived by his sons, Olin Moore, Shawn Moore, Jeff Willard,
and Jada Mellon whom they raised as a daughter from the age of 2 years. Mr.
Moore is survived by his sisters Peggy Autry and Debbie Butler.
Grandchildren; Jonathan Moore, Jessica Hewett, Monica Hewett, Lane Hewett,
Katelyn Willard and 6 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and
nephews.

Mr. Moore and wife Iva Moore shared a compassion for life, several
children's lives were impacted by their parental guidance; Jessica Nobles,
Michelle Nobles and Whitney Moore whom they loved like their own. Hugh was a
dedicated father; he loved life and never met a stranger. Those who knew
him, loved him and his compassion for others was felt by many. He impacted
so many lives, his warmth and smile will be dearly missed.
