Hugh Richard Shehan, 71,of Lawndale passed away on April 8, 2026 at his residence.

Richard was born on May 10, 1954 in Cleveland County, to the late Hugh Evans Shehan and Ella Louise Clark Shehan. He was retired from Cleveland Mills and was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Richard was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother. He loved his skulls and Indian nick-nacks, sons of anarchy and the walking dead. Most of all he loved his family. He was always a hard worker and could fix anything needing fixed. He was such a hard fighter through the past year with a lot of medical issues, he is no longer in pain and is in a much better place than we all are.

He is very much loved and missed dearly by his wife of 47 years, Denise Buchanan Shehan; daughter, Hope Pruitt and husband Tony; son, Heath Shehan and wife Jennifer; grandsons, Mason, and Sawyer; granddaughters, Bailey and Brennan; Sister, Helen Wright; Nephew, David Strange.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stamey- Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Celebration of life service will be held on April 11, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Stamey- Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.
