Jackie Ray “Jack” Lamber


 Mr. Jackie Ray “Jack” Lambert, 69, of Grover, died on March 4, 2011 at Hospice House of Kings Mountain.  A native of Brookhaven, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Jesse James and Edna Blanche McGuffey Lambert.  He was a retired truck driver.  He also was a member of Faith Baptist Church.  A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served his country faithfully.  He also was a lover of Golf and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Ann Stine.

Surviving Mr. Lambert is his beloved wife of 37 years, Norma Blankenship Lambert of Grover; Sons, Frankie Lambert of Columbia, SC, Alan Wilkie and wife Beth of Shelby, NC and Wayne Wilkie of Ft. Mill, SC.  He is survived by a sister, Joyce Letchworth and husband Ken of Bamburg, SC; by one nephew, Richard Letchworth and wife Jill of Davidson, NC; by his grandchildren, Brandon Stine and wife Brittany of Honolulu, HI, Jessica Lambert of Kings Mountain, Michael Lambert of Gastonia, and Eleana Lambert, also of Gastonia.  He is also survived by special friends, Larry and Kay Hannon of Shelby and by his mother-in-law, Irene Blankenship of Shelby.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Lambert will be held in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 with the Rev. Johnny Owens officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with full military honors.
