James "Curtis" Allen, 45, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Cleveland County, on February 2, 1979. He worked in auto body repair for twenty-one years. He enjoyed UNC Basketball, playing golf, fishing, going camping and traveling. Curtis loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father James "Buddy" Benjamin Allen, Jr grandparents, James "Benny" B. Allen, Sr and Roberta Allen, Odell and Gladys Thrift and a special mother-in-law, Theresa Jones.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Jo Thrift Littlefield and husband Darrell of Woodruff, SC; son Lane Allen of Shelby; sisters, Jennifer Wesson and husband Allen, of Shelby and Miranda Deyton and husband Aaron of Rutherfordton; niece and nephews, Kane Williams, Kaela Rowsey, Colby Deyton, and Jesse Deyton; stepmother, Connie Allen of Shelby; stepsister, Shannon Standish and son Landon; and special friends, Lindsey Ward, Susan and Tim Elmore, Donna Thrift and sons, Bryan and Alan, Brandee and Scott Wright and Jerry Allen.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Hannah Park, 1655 McBrayer-Springs Rd, Shelby, NC 28150
