James Franklin Blanton
James Franklin Blanton, 98 of Blanton Street, Lawndale passed away, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Hospice at Wendover.
Born February 1, 1920 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late James Abraham Blanton and Dolly Jefferies Blanton. He was retired from Cleveland Mills and was a member of Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church. Mr. Blanton served in the US Army during WWII.
Survivors include his wife of 81 years, Mary Brackett Blanton; three sons, Tommy Blanton of Shelby, Jimmie Blanton and wife, Brenda of Kings Mountain and Ronnie Blanton and wife, Angela of Lawndale; two daughters, Linda Hartley and husband, Mike of Morganton and Beth Bridges and husband, Terry of Shelby; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church Fellowship Building.
A funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Queen officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
