James "Jim" Elwood Love, Jr., 76 of Lawndale, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026 at his residence.

Born on May 29, 1949, in Watauga County, North Carolina to the late James Elwood Love, Sr. and Hazel Lawrence Love. Jim's journey through life was one marked by devotion and hard work. He retired from Fluor Daniel's and Day and Zimmerman. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and was the happiest when he was hunting, fishing, or working on his farm. His love for travel took him to many places, but he always returned to Lawndale, which he considered home.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan Mason Love; son, James "Jimmy" E. Love, III of Lawndale; grandson, James E. Love, IV and two sisters, Deborah Cruz of Trade, TN and Jane Hughes of Taylors, SC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
