Mr. James Thea Engle, 91, of Waco, NC passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010. Services were held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Cherryville, NC. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Engle served our country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class in the Pacific during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Eula Kate Howell Engle; his parents, Beverly Alexander Engle and Susan Maude Beam; 2 brothers, Clyde Engle and B.A. Engle, Jr.; 2 sisters, Betty Engle and Inez E. Hoyle; and 3 brothers-in-law, Roy Taylor, Dean Howell, and Robert Hoyle.
He is survived by 1 daughter, Lois Engle Hullander and husband JD Hullander, Jr. of Cherryville, NC; 2 grandson; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Paul “Bub” Engle and wife Geneva of Cherryville; and 2 sisters, Barney Ruth Taylor of Lincolnton and Willie Sue Howell of Cherryville.
