Mrs. Jannie Mae Howze Patterson, 89, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born on September 18, 1937 in Great Falls, SC to the late Tome Howze and the late Amelia Walker Howze.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Deacon Charles Junior Patterson; three brothers, Willie Jay Hall, Roosevelt Howze, and Henry Howze; four sisters, Iola Smarr, Ella McCray, Shirley Wilson, and Anna Louise Williams.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two daughters, Deller Patterson Sims(Harold) of Lawndale, NC, and Janice Patterson Crank (Davey) of Shelby, NC; grandson, Harold Monroe Sims, Jr.; grand dog Hamilton of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cherished as her own, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Waco. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
