Cherryville - Mr. Jerry Andrew Moss, 83, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

Jerry was born on April 29, 1943 in Gaston County, North Carolina a son of the late Thomas Andrew "T.A." Moss and Jessie Belle Sellers Moss. He was a graduate of Cherryville High School. Jerry worked at Dixie Lumber Company in Cherryville until he was drafted into the United States Army where he served for two years. He later worked at Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryville. In recent years Jerry was self employed doing lawn care for many people in Cherryville. Having mastery carpentry skills, he built his and Nancy's home and helped many family, friends and neighbors with their construction projects. Jerry was a devout Christian who sought to worship according to how the apostles and early church worshipped. He was a beloved husband, loving brother, brother-in-law and a friend to all.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy Rider Moss of the home; three sisters, Linda Ballard of Cherryville, Cynthia Hall (Richard) of Gastonia and Nancy Rudisill (Larry) of Lincolnton; two brothers, Steen Moss (Jane) of Denver and Tommy Moss (Glenda) of Cherryville. a sister-in-law and caregiver, Alberta Rider Bovard of the home; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Cheryl Callahan of Dallas. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Armstrong Cemetery, 703 Osceola Street, Gastonia, NC 28054. Military honors will be provided by the Cherryville American Legion Honor Guard.

Burial will follow the service.
