Jewell Strickland Wilson, 86, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at her home.

Born on April 16, 1937, Jewell is a native of Cleveland County and the daughter of the late Otis "Joe" Strickland and Evelyn Elliott Strickland.
Jewell was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and she worked for Cleveland County Department of Social Services for 68 years. She was always doing nice things for others. Jewell was a natural caregiver in every sense of the word.

In addition to her father, Jewell was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm "Gene" Wilson.

Jewell is survived by her daughter, Joy Ellis (Mike) of Shelby, NC; grandson, Jordan Ellis (Anne-Marie) of Charlotte, NC' granddaughter and caregiver, Lyndsey Ellis; great grandchildren, Madison Ellis, Braylyn, Brooklyn, and Breanna Hoyle; and Finn Ellis.

There will be a private funeral service and burial.
