Jo Ann Smith Greene, 76, of Lawndale, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby with her family by her side.

Jo Ann was born in Seattle-King County, Washington, on April 22, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Gerry Smith. She was a member of Lawndale Methodist Church and Parents Without Partners. Jo Ann spent many hours reading and working puzzles. Though what brought the most joy to her life was her family especially her grandson, John. She enjoyed every baseball game and game that he helped coach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Kenneth Greene and a brother Bob Smith.

Jo Ann is survived by her beloved daughter Patty Grigg and husband Robert of Lawndale; grandson, John Grigg and wife Natalyn of Boiling Springs and a great granddaughter Gracyn Garvin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lawndale Methodist Church with the Rev. Eli Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
