Joan Grigg, 94, of Shelby passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 24, 2025, at White Oak Manor. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Edna Blanton Grigg.

She was a faithful member of Rehobeth Community Church where she proudly served as the church pianist and organist for many years. Joan's love for music was palpable as she took great pride in teaching the students piano at home. She retired from Cleveland County Schools where she served in accounting and made many lifelong friends. She was known to always be enthralled in a new book as reading was a favorite pastime.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Hal W. Grigg.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother and his wife Dayne and Dot Grigg of Shelby; two sons, Victor Grigg (Bella) of Tennessee, and Joel Grigg (Kay) of Shelby, NC; three granddaughters, Shannon Grigg Shytle (John), Vickie Grigg Chacom (Nestor), and Amy Grigg, ten great grandchildren; MaryBeth, Ginny, Max, Maegan, Devyn, Annslee, Alayna, Nikolas, Max, and Gus.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2:00PM at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rehobeth Community Church in Shelby, NC.
