Joan Hallman Champion



Joan Hallman Champion, 81, of 217 Old Mill Road, Shelby, passed away
Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born November 8, 1933 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late June
Hallman and Addie Esper Smith Hallman. She was retired from Specialty
Lighting and was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, JL
Hallman; one sister, Betty Seate; and three grandchildren, Chad Yarborough,
Chris Yarborough, and Nicky Jonas.

Survivors include her husband of sixty four years, Joe Hal Champion, Sr.;
son & daughter-in-law, Joe & Debbie Champion of Shelby; three daughters &
sons-in-law, Dayle & Max Jonas of Cherryville, Rhonda & Charles Yarborough
of Shelby, and Tammy & Mark Leonhardt of Fallston; four brothers, Larry
Hallman of Cherryville, Jerry Hallman of Lincolnton, Kermit Hallman of Vale,
and Webber Hallman of Maiden; one sister, Peggy Hall of Newton; five
grandchildren, Shaunda Camp & husband, Bryan, Alicia Mclean, Eric Champion,
LeAnn Vinesett and husband, Michael and Michael Leonhardt, and four great
grandchildren, Brooklynn & Katie Camp, Daniel Ledbetter, and MaKayla Mclean.

Visitation: 6:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Stamey
Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

The funeral service will be 1:00PM Thursday at Double Shoals Baptist Church
with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
