JoAnn B. Peeler, age 90, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 at her home. JoAnn was born Friday, March 27, 1936 in Rutherford County to the late C.D. Baldwin and Carrie Conner Baldwin. She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School, class of 1954. JoAnn worked twenty-seven years as an Instructor at the Rutherford County Workshop. She grew up going to Race Path Baptist Church where she was active in the shut-in ministry, later she became a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved watching and tending to her hummingbirds and was an excellent seamstress. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Packer and brother, Boyce Baldwin, Sr. Those left to cherish her legacy include her husband of forty-three years, Don Peeler; daughters, Sheila Levy (Kenny) of Hilton Head, NC, Robin Randall (Bob) of Shelby and Debbie Dickson (Brice) of Boiling Springs, NC; son, Roger Randall (Tammy) of Mooresboro; stepchildren, Jerry N. Peeler (Susie) and Angela Denis Author (Chris) all of Gaffney, SC; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 7th at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Mack Tester and her grandson, Reverend Matt Tiller, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
