Cherryville - Mr. Joe Dean Hamrick 75, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby.

Joe was born on January 22, 1951 in Cleveland a son of the late Fred Hamrick and Kathleen Huffman Hamrick. He worked many years for Doran Textiles in Cherryville and later helped is son with his construction business. Joe enjoyed trips to the mountains and was a devoted family man, loving his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou Brittain Hamrick; two granddaughters, Rebecca and Madaline Hamrick; a sister, Evelyn Mellon and three brothers, Bobby, Johnny Ray and Billy Hamrick.

Survivors include his wife, Candy Mauney Hamrick of the home; four sons, Joey Hamrick of Cherryville; Jamie Hamrick (Robin) of Cherryville; Chad Hamrick (Vickie) of Gaffney; Jonathan Hamrick of Casar; a daughter, Nikki Starr (Larry) of Crouse; daughter-in-law, Gwen Hughes of Shelby; 15 grandchildren, Josie Hamrick, Kameron Wingate, Anna Kaylor, Isaac Hamrick, Oliver Hamrick, Angel Hamrick, Chase Hamrick (Kristen), Haley Hamrick, Brandon Walker, J.D. Hamrick, Shane Willis, Adam Clemmons, Devine Clemmons, Cameron Clemmons, Caroline Heffner, (Austin); a sister, Barbara Camp of Shelby; five brothers, Scott Hamrick of Polkville; Reggie Hamrick of Shelby; Ronnie Hamrick of Shelby; Loyd Hamrick of Cherryville; Boyd Hamrick of Shelby.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:30PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville with Pastor Billy Chapman officiating.

Burial will follow the service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
