 Joe Harold Kanipe, Sr., 70, died Saturday September 22, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Born on November 25, 1941 he was the son of the late Rev. Joe and Helen Bright Kanipe. Mr. Kanipe was a member at Christopher Road Baptist Church and owner of Carolina Hotdog. He was a devoted husband, loving father and loving grandfather. In addition to his parents Mr. Kanipe is preceded in death by a son, Todd Alan Kanipe and a brother, Donald Kanipe.

Mr. Kanipe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathryn Graham Kanipe; two daughters, Terri Kanipe of Shelby, and Tracy Rubino and husband Keith of Charlotte; a son, Joe H. Kanipe Jr. and wife Jennifer of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Ruslana Kanipe of Concord; a sister, Linda Shelby and husband Michael of Clarksville TN; a brother, Jerry Kanipe and wife Linda of Salisbury; seven grandchildren, Taylor Kanipe, Paige Kanipe, Lindsay Kanipe, Jessica Rubino, E.J. Rubino, Naomi Rubino, Daniel Kanipe; and best friend “Genesis”

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 25, 2012 at 3:00pm at Christopher Road Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Wray officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
