A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Dan Jones & Mary Brackett Jones and was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Henry Jones.
Mr. Jones had served as an auctioneer and worked as a fork lift operator at Clearwater Paper. He was a member of the Friendship Masonic Lodge, former of the Boiling Springs Rural Fire Department and the N. C. Auctioneers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Trudie Jones of the home; two daughters, Liza Jones & Chris Wilson of Blacksburg, SC, Sierra Jones of the home; one son, Clay Jones of Shelby; two sisters, Dana Reynolds of Shelby and Sherry Davis & husband, Mel of Beaufort; grandchildren, Aryana Jones, Natalya
Hamilton, Brock Wilson, Brian Wilson; also survived by several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Jon Jordan.
The family will receive friends at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory, Tuesday, October 30th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm and other times at the home.
A graveside service will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park, Wednesday, October 31st at 11:00 am.
The Rev. will officiate.
